Sewing Challenge

The challenge of making everything in The Liberty Book of Home Sewing in one year (hmm…would you believe two years?). How about: Lots of things I have made in the past year or so…

A few years ago I realised I didn’t have any hobbies. In my journey into creativity I discovered I loved sewing. Can’t say I excel at it, but I love the feeling of using a finished product I’ve made (and sometimes designed). I work part-time and I’m a mum, so to make time for creative pursuits I’ve given up TV and set myself a mission to make everything in the Liberty Book of Home Sewing in one year! For more details of the Challenge go to my first post.

I think all of us have a creative side that we often don’t have time to nurture or rekindle. From writing music to making a birthday card for a friend, it can all be immensely satisfying and it often taps into a part of our mind and personality we don’t use as often as we should. Oh the satisfaction of knowing that you made something.

Hey B, fantastico! What a great project! I’m inspired and so looking forward to the day we can get into our front room and perhaps have a nice clear table to sew on… Your blog might bring that day forward! XXO Lizzie
